Gerade hab ich einen Blogartikel im Netz gefunden in dem Christoph dazu aufruft ihm “lustige, interessante, elegante oder sonstwie erwähnenswerte Source Code Schnipsel” zu schicken diese aber bitte “kommentiert, ich werde den Witz oder die Eleganz sicher nicht verstehen”. Er will damit für den 26C3 einen “Source code poetry slam” als Lightning Talk bauen.
Eine witzige Idee und auf jeden Fall mitmachens-/unterstützenswert.

Wie ich gerade bei orf.at lesen konnte soll es für die derzeit am Markt befindlichen Android Geräte HTC Magic und Hero sowie das Samsung Galaxy I7500 kein Update auf Android 2.0 geben.
Dabei sieht es wohl für das Hero besser aus als für das Magic, vom Samsung reden wir mal nicht. Für das G1 soll es aber jedenfalls Updates geben. Da die bekannten Mods ja meist auf G1 und dem Magic (32A/B) funktionieren bleibt zu hoffen, dass die Community rund um das xda-developers Forum es schafft auch für die Geräte Android 2.0 Mods rausbringen. Am interessantesten ist hierbei denke ich der cyanogen Mod.
Als Trost formuliert die orf.at Redaktion – etwas unpassend wie ich finde – “dass im nächsten Jahr mehrere Modelle, die vom Start weg über Android 2.0 verfügen werden, auf den Markt kommen werden.”

Today the ove the air update (OTA) of Android 1.6 Donut hit my phone. The update worked very well except of AdvancedLauncher and Superuser.
After the update AdvancedLauchner, which is an alternative homescreen manager, keeps crashing and restarting because I’ve set it for my default homescreen app. It was impossible to enter the system settings, the only thing I got started was the phone app.
On this blog entry I’ve found a solution how to deal with that problem – booting into the rescue mode.
You may know such a mode from other operating systems. It starts a base system without run autostart apps and widgets so someone is able to remove applications or change settings.
To boot into this rescue mode follow these little steps:
* Power off your phone
* Hold down Menu and then power on your phone
* Keep holding Menu down until Android boots and you see safe mode displayed on your desktop
* Go to Settings > Applications > Manage Applications and uninstall problem software
